Objective of Methmatics

The obvious objective of the Methmatics course is to open a conversation and educate
students before they are approached to experiment with meth. As parents we would like to think that our children will never be put in this situation, but as rational adults we know that no matter where we live, the problem of drugs exists. No city, large or small is immune, and we cannot be with our children 24 hours a day, we can give them the knowledge to make wise decisions. The greatest teaching tool we have is to converse with the students rather than lecture. A two way conversation always works best, and can open the door to great interaction with a group. The lesson plan will also give you an opportunity to relate to personal experiences in your community and how it has affected your school, city, and state.

History and Chemical make-up: this section will give the students background into the timeline of it's discovery as well as the dangerous chemicals used, and the legislation passed to curb manufacturing.

Dangers of clean-up: processes are discussed in this section.

The Deal: ways to react to peer pressure and other situations involving drugs.

Pictures can paint a thousand words, so we use these to drive home a message. Photos of people that have used this drug for as little as 3 months can be very surprising, but pictures of long time users are shocking. Photos of labs or dump sites provide protection for the students by teaching them what to be aware of. Knowledge is power!
